Small Print introduction:
The Folk In Education website is aimed at providing a traditional service, based upon what we expect to get when we make purchases ourselves. In other words, trying to make the customer happy with as much assistance as possible.
All purchases made from this website are subject to our Terms and Conditions, the 'small print'. Most of us hate small print, but it is a condition you read it before you buy. We wish to avoid you telling us we haven't told you something and hope to have made our terms & conditions as easy as possible to read and understand.
Before we start:
Please provide working email addresses, make sure you can receive incoming messages and check your email frequently! Our online business is based upon electronic communication by email and it is not always possible to contact you by phone.
Moneyback Guarantee & Returns Policy:
1a: You bought something, but are not 100% happy with your purchase or wish to swap a purchase.
Besides your rights to a 'Cooling Off' period under UK and EU law, we offer you an extended no hassle return policy according to the following conditions:
1b: You may notify us about cancelling all, or part of your order within seven working days (10 days including Saturdays and/or Sundays) after receiving the goods.
1c: After you have informed us about a cancellation, you need the correct return address, or arrange possible collection by a Courier company. Goods sent to us without prior notice may not be accepted and may be returned with you being responsible for any possible transport costs.
1d: Items need to be returned within 7 working days after notification and have to be in mint condition, in their original packaging, showing no signs of use or damage.
1e: We offer a 100% refund on the original purchase price of unwanted items.
1f: You are advised to return goods using a recorded delivery service. You will be responsible for the costs of returning goods to us, unless the item(s) arrived damaged, proved to be faulty or were delivered to you in error.
1g: Unsealed Video or Audio items, self-assembly items (part or fully completed), special orders and hand made or bespoke, custom made items are exempt from our Moneyback Guarantee Returns Policy, unless they arrived damaged or are proven to be at fault.
1h: Extra charges for the Gift-Wrapping of items are non-refundable.
1i: We will refund unused and valid Discount Coupons or Gift Certificates up to a maximimum of 80% of their value.
1j: Refunds are only made to the original purchaser, never to third parties.
Aftercare:
2a: Goods need to be inspected immediately upon receipt to ensure your order does not contain damaged, defective or wrong items.
2b: If you think an item is not working properly, contact us within 7 days to discuss the matter. In case the item is clearly at fault we will arrange a replacement or an alternative.
2c: If an item arrives damaged, contact us within 7 days after receiving it, to arrange a replacement or an alternative. We might ask you to return the item as soon as possible or forward photographs or related evidence of the damage, in order to help us making a claim with the responsible carrier
2d: When we send you a replacement for a damaged, defective or incorrect item, you must return the original item within 10 days of us confirming the replacement of the item (by e-mail or by phone). If you do not return the original item to us by the end of the 10 day period, we reserve the right to charge an amount equal to the price of your original order, including shipping costs, to the payment card you used for the order.
2e: Damaged, defective, incorrect items, paid for by cheque, can only be replaced upon receipt of the returned goods of the original order.
2f: If an item gets damaged after being in your possession for a length of time, we cannot accept any responsibility for the damage or liability for any further damage caused. Especially wooden toys need to be handled with more care than e.g. plastic toys. Due to the nature of children not always understanding to be gentle with certain toys, a warranty for any specific length of time cannot be given.
2g: We cannot be held responsible for late delivery of a replacement, if you leave ordering items to the last minute or order too close to recommended Christmas delivery deadlines.
Dispatch & Delivery:
3a: Our standard postal charges are based upon us reserving the right to choose which method of posting is the most efficient and economical.
3b: Goods are dispatched with a suitable carrier company or Royal Mail under their conditions of transport.
3c: Purchases sent to a different address other than cardholder's (to a 3rd party) will only be dispatched by "Recorded Delivery" and need to be signed for upon delivery.
3d: It is the purchaser's responsibilty to assure ordered goods can be delivered to a 3rd party.
3e: All delivery times quoted are based upon information as provided by Royal Mail, courier or other carrier companies.
3f: We cannot be held responsible for delays during the transportation of your goods by Royal Mail or any carrier company.
3g: We cannot be held responsible for delays or failure to deliver, caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control (customer not contactable by email or phone, illness, technology failure, travel or weather conditions etc.).
3h: We reserve the right to charge you or your (credit card) account with all extra costs of re-delivery of ordered goods involved, in case a courier company could not deliver the parcel(s), because the intended recepient was not in (failed 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc. delivery).
3i: We reserve the right to charge you or your (credit card) account with all extra costs of returning ordered goods to our company and/or the distributer/supplier, in case a courier company could not deliver the parcel(s), because the intended recepient was not in (100% failed delivery).
Prices, Payment, Ownership
4a: All our prices are quoted in UK Pound Sterling and include vat, unless mentioned otherwise. UK customers and European Union customers pay vat over the chosen products.
4b: Non EU and overseas customers will not pay vat, but may need to comply with their country's customs and excise duties.
4c: We do not accept any responsibilty for extra costs incurred when certain import duties apply to purchased goods from this website. Our VAT registration number is: 846 2886 85
4d: We reserve the right to ammend prices and specifications of products, contents of website(s), catalogues, policies, these terms & conditions etc. at any time.
4e: We will try to match the price of any similar item found at a local High Street or any Vat registered Online Trader at the time of ordering, provided all these items are proved to be in stock and ready for purchase or dispatch.
4f: Payment is processed once items are established to be in stock and ready for dispatch. If you order multiple items, part payment may be processed if most of the items are in stock and a mutual back-order arrangement for out of stock items has been agreed upon.
4g: Ownership of goods ordered tranfers to you upon delivery and acceptance of the goods, provided full payment has been processed and/or received.
4h: When placing a deposit (first payment) for an item payed for in instalments, you agree to fulfil the final payment, which is the remainder of the total sales price, within the period as described on the detailed pages of our online catalogue, or as emailed to you after processing your first payment. Failure to complete payment of your order can lead to you loosing 100% of your deposit.
4i: Acceptance and processing of your order is according to us confirming your order either by phone or by email with the exception of the following: An error in the price of goods and/or postal/shipping costs may occur, in which case we will contact you as soon as possible and advise you to either reconfirm or cancel the order. If you are not contactable or do not reply, we will cancel the order and any payment recieved will be fully refunded.
Miscellaneous:
5a: When you purchase our goods through an affiliate trader or retailer, you are advised to familiarise yourself with their 'conditions of sale' and/or 'terms of business', which are applicable to your purchase.
5b: We cannot guarantee that the product ordered resembles exactly the description or is packaged according to images and information on our website. Manufacturers can change specification of products at any time, without informing distributers or retailers.
5c: When you order goods from us or make purchases through our website(s), you will be subject to the 'terms and conditions' as laid out in this document, which we expect you to have read and understood, before placing your order.
